If you’ve been wondering if you should take up the ProGen Weight Management program, then I can help.

At the time of writing this, November 14th, 2022, I have been working with Progen for more than a month. (FYI – I took a break in Dec and have resumed since Jan).

I was looking for a support system to help me lose weight. And I was tired of figuring out what to eat every day. I found Progen with a simple search for weight loss programs.

It was close to my location and promised strong results – they claim you can lose as much as 10 Kg (or 22 pounds) a month.

And as I found out – that is very possible.

In this post, I’ll make a review of Progen Weight Management. I’ll start with a quick breakdown of how it works, share the pros and cons, and then dive in deeper with my personal experience.

What is ProGen Weight Management?

ProGen describes itself as a European treatment for losing weight. The company was first started under another name in Europe and, since then, has come to India under the ProGen name.

It uses an extremely low-calorie ketogenic diet protocol to help you lose weight.

How Does Pro Gen’s Protocol Work?

It’s pretty simple.

  1. You get into a very low-calorie diet, between 600-700 calories daily. This is no joke! Most diets encourage at least 1000 calories per day but because of the very low amount of calories consumed, you’ll lose weight faster.
  2. It helps you get into ketosis, i.e., your body will start burning your fat mass instead of glucose as a source of energy.
  3. ProGen Weight Management provides you with all the protein, fat, carbs, and nutrients you need to stay healthy while following such a low-calorie ketogenic diet.

The Real Reason Why Progen’s Weight Loss Protocol Works. My Story.

You should know that I have suffered from disordered eating for nearly two decades.

I have tried everything to lose weight like:

  • Fasting
  • Training at the gym
  • Low carb diet
  • Slow-carb diet
  • Calorie counting
  • Keto
  • Hypnosis
  • Psychiatric medication
  • Therapy
  • Worked with programs from the authors of ‘Bright Line Eating’, ‘Never Binge Again’, and ‘Thin Woman’s Brain’
  • Also bought and used books and workbooks from the author of ‘Brain Over Binge’
  • Counseling
  • Dietician -monitored food consumption
  • Mindful eating or Intuitive eating
  • And… on and on

All of them would work – until I couldn’t sustain them. I realised that my problem was my mental state and my relationship to my body and food.

I worked on myself first and brought myself to a positive and accepting state of mind. I reconnected with my body and learned more about myself before trying ProGen.

So, you see that I didn’t join ProGen lightly. Nor do I make this review without being very mindful of the kind of struggles people go through.

However, if you’re considering working with ProGen – I highly recommend it. It has been the best way to lose weight very fast while feeling like you’re enjoying food.

Why You Should Work With ProGen

The following reasons why ProGen is amazing are from my personal experience. I have lost more than 15 Kg of weight in a short while. And I felt a number of benefits such as a greater appreciation for food and a better understanding of portion control.

But let’s dive deeper. Here’s why you should consider joining ProGen:

1. Ready-Made and Pre-Packaged Food

One of the reasons why people can’t stick to diets is because of the sheer amount of work it involves.

Aside from having a normal life consisting of work, childcare, or other responsibilities, you’re expected to plan varied healthy meals, prep and clean them, cook them and repeat this over and over again for months.

This is unsustainable for most people and is one of the biggest problems that ProGen solves.

When you sign up for ProGen’s weight loss system, you get almost all the meals you’ll need for 15 days at a stretch.

That is, you will receive boxes of food packets. Anywhere between 4-7 packets per box. You will also get important supplements like Sodium, DHA, and multivitamins.

The food is typically in powder form and is high-protein and very low-carb.

All you have to do is mix the food with water and cook it as per the instructions. And your meal is ready in minutes.

You’ll only need to prepare your daily veggies as your ‘extra’ work. Otherwise, preparing your meals is literally a 2-minute job. No spending hours cutting and cleaning and cooking vegetables and fruits.

Note: You have to eat two servings of veggies per day. You will get a list of veggies you can eat and how much of it – 250 Gms or 400 Gms, depending on the vegetable. You have to saute or boil these foods, which just take 5-10 minutes.

And you can only have 10 ml of fat a day. But the 10 mls of fat is mandatory – don’t neglect it.

2. Varied, Flavorsome, and Tasty Food

With my history of problematic eating, following diets was ridiculously hard because I couldn’t stand how bland or uninteresting diet foods could be.

Steamed broccoli and whole-wheat chapatis for days, anyone?

But ProGen solves this problem too. They provide you with a thorough variety of foods including:

  • Dosa
  • Chapati
  • Vanilla pudding
  • Chocolate pudding
  • Shakes
  • Choco bars
  • Coconut chocolate bars
  • Barbecue chips
  • Juices
  • Watermelon Vitamin drink
  • Oats
  • Pancakes… and the list goes on

So, not only is the food super easy to make… you get a variety, and you don’t feel like you’re missing out.

I’m a major foodie, and chocolate and sugar are my demons. But with ProGen, I satisfied my need for sweetness with chocolate bars, puddings, and sweet oatmeal.

This is one of the keys to why I have succeeded with ProGen. As I continue following it, I feel good and satisfied too.

Of course, it doesn’t compare to restaurant-quality food… but if I had to choose between eating chicken and salad for days and ProGen’s nice and enjoyable stuff, I’d choose ProGen every day.

3. Portable and Easy-To-Make While Traveling

Have you ever dreaded traveling because you know you can’t maintain your diet?

I’ve struggled with that too.

But since ProGen foods are in package form, I’ve not had an issue sticking with it no matter how tired I am or where I am.

For example, I went on a camping trip with my son and dad. I carried my chicken soup packets and asked for hot water and a bowl. I mixed the soup powder into the hot water, and that’s it! I had my meal.

I also asked for sliced cucumber and that made my vegetable portion for lunch or dinner.

I even went to the passport office to renew my passport and ate only ProGen foods because it was so easy to carry.

You also get chocolate bars, Tetra packs of vanilla or chocolate shakes, or juice powders. You can have them easily without any issues, even when you’re trekking or snacking in a conference room.

You just have to be mindful of what your day looks like and carry the right items. And when you buy your ProGen products, make sure to choose some items that work well for travel.

4. Five Meals and Snacks a Day

When anyone starts a diet at first, it’s hard because you’re constantly thinking of food. And you’re most likely avoiding snacks and trying to have just three meals a day.

ProGen was good for me, because I would have five times to eat during the day:

  • A full meal for breakfast + sodium + DHA omega at 8.30 am
  • Half a meal/snack + watermelon multivitamin juice at 11.30 am
  • Lunch + veggies + sodium at 2.30 pm
  • Half a meal/snack + watermelon multivitamin juice at 5.30 pm
  • Dinner + veggies + sodium + DHA omega at 8.30 pm

For more clarity, here are the exact items I might eat during a day:

  • Oatmeal + supplements
  • Half a chocolate-coconut bar + watermelon vitamin juice
  • Chicken soup + supplements
  • Half a choco-coconut bar + watermelon vitamin juice
  • Vanilla pudding + supplements

It feels like a lot! Even though it all adds up to just 700 or so calories for the day.

You’re least likely to feel deprived with this program compared to any other.

5. Rapid Weight Loss!

All the benefits I mentioned here are great. But ultimately, what matters is the outcome.

I am happy to say that you will have the fastest and most effective weight loss with ProGen.

When you first start ProGen, you may find that you lose around 1.5 Kgs in 4 days. And in 15 days, you could lose 5-7 Kgs. There will be a difference in how much weight you lose based on:

  • Your metabolism
  • How much water you drink
  • How closely you follow your diet
  • Sleep
  • Menstrual cycles (for women)

And so on.

You will find that after the first week, your weight loss will slow down a little. But that is okay. Your body will adjust to your new caloric intake and you will keep losing weight over time.

But – the reality is that this program will transform you fast. And it’s sustainable.

6. Personalized Support

I have been working with the ProGen team in New BEL Road, Bangalore for a few months now.

And they have been very helpful. You get all the information you need from the doctor, the manager, and the dieticians who are part of the team.

You can talk to them if you’re facing any difficulties and they will motivate you and support you.

Ask any question you like – and you will get an answer.

7. Mild and Effective Workouts

You also need to do MAT sessions by ProGen. These are Mitochondrial Activation Training workouts where you will do gentle but impactful exercises at least once a week.

There is no running or jumping involved but you will work out different parts of your body.

Your dietician will set dates and times to do the sessions. And you’ll find your body dropping weight very easily with these sessions and the diet protocol.

8. Reverse Major Illnesses

We all know that weight gain leads to some illnesses like heart issues and diabetes.

Being obese or overweight can also aggravate mild health problems.

And, of course, having certain illnesses also contribute to weight gain.

When you get on ProGen’s protocol, you will find that you can improve or even cure some problems. Losing weight, improving your water intake, and exercising will help you get better.

There are even cases of people reversing their diabetes completely.

So, if you want to boost your overall health – ProGen is a good choice.

These are the main reasons why I recommend ProGen and why I also found great success with them.

More Things You Should Know

Here are some other points that you should know if you want to have a comprehensive understanding of how ProGen works.

  • Your body will enter a state of ketosis where you’ll start burning fat. You have to do a keto test every 4 days to ensure that you’re in ketosis.
  • You may feel tired and listless for the first few days when you begin. It may take a week to get fully used to the protocol.
  • You have to drink 4 Lts of water a day.
  • You will get a full body analysis with their BMI machine every 15 days which will check your weight, visceral fat, water levels, and more.
  • It is vital to have the supplements and multivitamins.

How Much Does the ProGen Weight Management Protocol Cost?

ProGen is expensive. You will pay anywhere between 21,000 to 28,000 INR every 15 days. It can even get to 30,000 INR, depending on what you buy.

The pricing is based on the food you order. The total cost is lower when you don’t have to buy supplements and vitamins.

You will also get charged for consultation during every visit with the dietician and for the MAT sessions.

The program works. It is easy. It is effective. It is safe. And in many circumstances, it can help with major health issues.

I personally find that it is worth the cost because you get many physical, emotional, and mental benefits.

I have learned to appreciate food more and am making an entire lifestyle change thanks to ProGen.

How Much Weight Can You Lose With ProGen Weight Management?

In the best case scenario, you will lose 10 Kgs a month easily. But if you everything right it can be much more.

Imagine how good you’ll feel when you see positive results fast.

When you first start, you’ll find that you’re losing close to 2 Kgs every 4 days. However, this will drop off and it’s fine.

It is realistic to expect to lose around 10 Kgs a month provided you follow the program correctly.

Are There Any Side-Effects with Pro Gen’s Weight Management Protocol?

No, there are no side effects when you eat ProGen foods and follow the recommendations. Please inform the doctor and dietician if you have any illnesses or conditions like diabetes, chronic illness, are pregnant, and so on.

And make sure you take the supplements and drink a lot of water to avoid any problems.

One-Year Update

Thank you for reading. I’ve also had a few requests for an update for life after ProGen. So, here it goes.

I stopped working with ProGen after many months. I had a friend come to my city from another country. I had to break my ProGen protocol to show her around the city and eat with her.

I did regain the weight as I couldn’t jump back into the program. So, one big lesson: avoid breaking the program if you can.

Finally, I have to disclose that I came into the program with a compulsive and emotional eating problem. And ProGen isn’t the first diet or program I’ve done in my life. As a result, I did regain a lot but not all my original weight.

Second big lesson: do not approach any diet or program expecting to change your emotional state. If you’re in a difficult place emotionally or mentally, getting slim will only act as a bandaid. You have to be well to sustain your body changes.

So, personally, while I found ProGen brilliant and supportive – my own issues came up and lead to me regaining my weight.

I hope this helps you make a better decision for yourself. If you can follow a protocol and are in a healthy emotional state, you will succeed.
